Luke Walton
Sr. Marketing ManagerAmazon
Luke Walton is an Amazon AI Bar Raiser and winner of the company’s 2025 “Bias for Action” Award for successfully deploying GenAI across 20 geographic markets. As a Senior Marketing Manager, he won AWS’s Bedrock Data Chunking Challenge, outperforming 100+ engineers and expanding his expertise beyond standard marketing systems into machine learning, RAG systems, Jupyter Notebooks, and software development.
His career traces a consistent pattern: identifying transformative technology early. At Google X, he helped launch Google Glass to enterprise customers and developers. During his MBA, in partnership with U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and Qualcomm, he developed wearable technology for field medics. At NAMM, he led a marketing team that welcomed 100,000+ attendees to The NAMM Show (trade show) and delivered $8M in critical revenue recovery post-pandemic. Each role prepared him to recognize GenAI not as hype, but as a fundamental platform shift to manage carefully at a rapid pace.
Today at Amazon, Luke orchestrates agentic marketing systems, deploys AWS Bedrock solutions featured in company-wide engineering blogs, and manages 8-figure global paid media budgets delivering 1B+ annual impressions. He also teaches GenAI implementation to mid-career professionals.
A lifelong musician, Luke lives in San Diego with his wife Merissa and their dog, Bobson Dugnutt. You’ll often find him in Japan, practicing the language and enjoying the hot springs.
